Success Stories: I-130 Spousal Petition approved for Filipino same-sex spouse of U.S. citizen

Photo by In Lieu & In View Photography on Unsplash. Form I-130 is used by a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (LPR) to apply for permanent residency for a qualifying relative who wishes to come to the United States permanently and get a Permanent Resident Card (also called a Green Card).

We recently received an approval at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) of an I-130 Petition for Alien Relative for a national of the Philippines who is the same-spouse of a U.S. Citizen. Congratulations to our clients!

Our clients are a same-sex couple who got married in the State of Utah solemnized in a remote appearance ceremony officiated by a local minister in Utah county, UT, while the couple were physically together in the Philippines.

The U.S. citizen petitioner filed the I-130 petition for his husband, a Filipino national after their wedding. The petition was approved in a little over a year and without a request for evidence from the USCIS.
