Success Stories: 10-year Marriage-based Green Card for Mexican National who entered with Border Crossing Card

We recently received an approval of lawful permanent residence (a green card) for a Mexican national through his U.S. citizen spouse at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) New York City Field Office without an interview. Congratulations to our clients!
The couple was recently approved for a marriage-based green card for the foreign spouse. The foreign spouse initially had entered on a BBBCV visa (or Border Crossing Card/BCC/BBBCC), which is issued to Mexican nationals and functions as a B-1/B-2 visa when presented with a valid Mexican passport. It permits entry for temporary visits, typically allowing stays of up to 30 days in designated border areas without needing additional forms.
Due to circumstances beyond their control, the foreign national was unable to normalize his status and remained undocumented for many years until they came to us for an in-depth consultation where we determined their eligibility for adjustment of status, which is the process of getting a green card/permanent residence in the United States (as opposed to consular processing, where one appears for an immigrant visa interview at a consulate overseas).
We had submitted evidence of a bona fide marriage at the time of filing and although the interview requirement was recently reinstated by the current administration, our application was approved without an interview and solely based on our well-documented submission!
